Loch Lomond (Erzählung): True/false, multiple choice
Loch Lomond
Leo Wilson is eleven years old and from Glasgow in Scotland. One Saturday in August, Leo and his dad wanted to go mountain biking. They got up at quarter past seven and were on the road at quarter to eight. Leo's mum Lily didn't go with them because she had to work that day. She is a pilot. Leo's older sister Olivia wanted to sleep late, and his eight-year-old brother Tom was at their grandparents' house.
Leo and his father went to Loch Lomond by car and it took them 45 minutes to get there. Loch Lomond is a very large lake near Glasgow. "Loch" is the Scottish word for "lake". The area around Loch Lomond is great if you want to go for a walk or by bike. On the lake, it is possible to do all kinds of water sports. It is often windy there, so it is great for sailing.
When Leo and his dad arrived, they had breakfast first: Leo had two sandwiches with cheese and tomatoes. His dad ate an egg salad sandwich.
Then they were ready to start. Leo was a bit nervous because they wanted to go up Ben Lomond. This mountain is 974 metres high and the path is only for experts.
The way to the peak took three hours and was good fun but hard! When they got there, they needed a break. They relaxed in the sun and Leo took lots of photos of Loch Lomond. Then they went downhill – that was the best part! Back at the lake, they jumped into the cold water.
What a fantastic day!
